How to Check Unisa Assignment Results

As you grow and progress in life, there may be a point where you may have a task assigned to you. This could be at home, school, job, church or any place you may find yourself.

Just as we have a task assigned to us, once you progress in school and get admission into UNISA. You have the chance to complete your course studies.

As part of completing your course studies, there are assignment tasks to you regularly to test your abilities and knowledge within a field.

In this blog post, we will look at how to check assignment results at the University of South Africa.

How to check Unisa assignment results

Assignment results are part of the academic work of students enrolling in the University of South Africa. It plays a pivotal role in the educational structure of UNISA.

Results from assignments are not just ordinary numbers collected for fancy purposes. But they actually represent the performance of students and their dedication to their studies.

Assignments at UNISA reflect the rigorous academic standards, which imply the high commitment of UNISA.

The assignment results from UNISA are really helpful for students as they give them valuable feedback on how well they understand the course materials and how effectively they can apply their knowledge in real-life situations. People often eagerly anticipate these results because they provide a glimpse into their progress and serve as motivation to strive for excellence.

Checking the results of your assignment at UNISA can be done online by logging into the myUnisa platform.

Students can also email – [email protected] to request their assignment results by submitting their subject heading and student number.

Where can I access Unisa assignments?

Accessibility to assignments as a student at the University of South Africa is easy and simple. These assignments are made to test students’ understanding of a particular module. The assignments are organised by lecturers to evaluate the judgement of students in their courses. There are some assignments that may be compulsory, while others may be voluntary. Aside from testing, it serves as a tool and a resource point to prepare students for their main exams.

You can access the UNISA assignment by logging into the myUnisa portal. Once logged in you are able to view the various modules and assignments allocated to them.

These assignments can be downloaded and submitted within the stipulated time.

How are assignment grades calculated?

In South African universities like UNISA, assignment grades are usually calculated based on a combination of factors. Some of these factors have to do with plagiarising content, organisation and structure, presentation, content, grammar and spelling.

Knowing there are different kinds of courses and modules it is important to read the guidelines of the various assignments allocated to you.

Usually, every assignment is accompanied by a set of assessment criteria or a rubric that is given by the course instructor or department. The criteria provided will detail the expectations for the assignment and how it will be assessed. Typically, students are graded according to how effectively they fulfil these criteria.

The grading process takes into consideration the content of the assignment as a crucial factor. This encompasses the level of comprehension of the subject matter, the precision of the information provided, and how well it aligns with the goals of the assignment.

Instructors or departments often provide students with specific guidelines that they need to follow. These guidelines may include word count, formatting, and submission instructions. Not following these guidelines could lead to a decrease in your grade.

Plagiarism and academic integrity are matters that universities consider with great seriousness. If a student is discovered to have plagiarised or committed any type of academic misconduct, there can be serious repercussions, such as receiving a failing grade for the assignment or even the entire course.

By and large, the grading is most determined by the lecturer as this can reflect this overall assessment for a particular module.

What is the pass mark for assignments at Unisa?

UNISA regulations and policy state that assignments may contribute a small percentage towards the final mark. In this course, the assignments we complete have the potential to contribute up to 15% towards our final grade. The maximum limit of 15% is set because we cannot ensure that the submitted work is solely the student’s own creation. Additionally, we encourage students to collaborate in groups , meaning that the work they submit may not be solely their own. We understand that many students have jobs throughout the year, and we want to acknowledge your hard work by ensuring that the assignments you complete are meaningful and count towards your overall grade. In most other courses at UNISA, assignments are not factored into the final mark. Instead, they are used as a prerequisite for the exams.

What happens if you miss a compulsory assignment at Unisa?

Missing a compulsory assignment at UNISA could be a big deal. If you miss a compulsory assignment, you must move on to do the next available assignment.

In the case where you have no other assignment, it means you will not be graded for that particular assignment. In cases where this assignment contributes to your overall exams, it means you have lost some marks in your final exams.

Update on the final release of examination results for the 2023 October/November exams

Please note that all Unisa examination results for the October/November 2023 exams have been released. The only exception is the HMPYC80 module, which is scheduled for release by 18 January 2024.

All other results were withheld due to non-adherence to the university’s examination rules . The affected students were afforded an opportunity to appeal, and 12 975 students subsequently appealed. The university is now finalising the appeal outcomes and is left with providing feedback for the outstanding 2 800 appeals. We are planning to have all appeal outcomes released by 30 January 2024. We advise students to read the issued notice for next actions to take in accordance with the outcomes of their final results.

As we ready ourselves for the commencement of the Jan/Feb 2024 examination season, we implore students to read the examination rules and act with integrity at all times. The invigilation systems are in place to uphold the integrity of the university’s assessment processes and qualifications.

We wish all students well with preparations for the Jan/Feb 2024 examination.
